About the performance
Majestic in scope.  Dazzling in sound.  There is nothing to match the experience of hearing, live in concert, the ultimate trip through the galaxy, The Planets.  Beginning with Mars, the Bringer of War and ending with Neptune, the Mystic (sorry, Pluto!), Gustav Holst’s sonic showpiece has delighted audiences of all ages for 100 years. Conductor John Storgårds adds to the celestial centennial celebration with a PSO premiere from his native Finland, Väinö Raitio’s Moonlight on Jupiter. Principal Horn William Caballero joins the orchestra for Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4, heard as part of the BNY Mellon Grand Classics series for the very first time.
